Electric car record in Hanover > teslamag.de
“A new life will begin for me tomorrow,” Timo Schadt told teslamag.de on Saturday afternoon at the Hannover Exhibition Center. To his right, meanwhile, about 600 electric cars were parked in neat rows, the majority of them from Tesla, in front of him hundreds of visitors to the electric car meet S3XY Cars, which he hosted, cavorted. Schadt was initially unable to say whether it would be the largest in the world as planned because the counting system did not work properly. A total of 1,600 parking tickets sold exclusively for electric cars speak for it.
Tesla with booth and tent at the S3XY meeting
With the event, which later left a smooth impression after heavy rain in the morning, he also redeemed a debt to the community, Schadt continues. Because he had actually already invited to an electric car meeting for May 2020, which was to become the largest in Europe. However, the M3T (here, too, a certain proximity to Tesla could already be seen from the title) had to be canceled due to the corona pandemic, and the following year it could only take place virtually.
The latest edition was also not without problems in the run-up, with one of them having an almost luxury character: The originally planned venue was not available, but this ensured that Schadt was able to book the much larger Hermesplatz on the Hanover site, including a pavilion . A small future fair on electromobility and renewable energy took place in the hall, where mainly Tesla individualizers offered their services.
The rental company Electric Runner had brought one of the first Tesla Model Y Long Range from the German Gigafactory – because you can hardly tell it from Chinese otherwise, with a cardboard sign identifying it as such. Right next to it, at the stand of the accessories retailer Tessi Supply, you could meet a man who is otherwise mainly known for his voice: Marian Mertes, who is in charge of the YouTube channel of teslamag.de. There were also many other Tesla and electric car influencers at the S3XY meeting, according to the organizer Schadt alone around 70.
Tesla itself was also on site with a booth and a shady tent as well as a few cars – again after trainees from his mechanical engineering subsidiary had recently caused a stir on the same site with a photovoltaic trailer with a power wall. In the large car park lined with halls, there were 16 rows of around 35 electric cars from participants who had paid 25 euros for them; regardless of this, the visit with any number of people was free of charge. You were not allowed to park directly on Hermesplatz with a burner, even for money. However, this also happened if you had paid and arrived late with an electric car. Around noon there were at least 100 of them in the next regular parking lot alone, again with a clear Tesla overweight.
Electric car record no longer so important
Panel discussions with influencers and experts took place throughout the day, and in the evening the trophy was handed over for the longest journey and the announcement of “the exact world record result” – a colleague from Schadt interjected that there was a meeting with 733 to beat Electric cars in Canada. However, the organizer himself was less interested in records than Fossilien, happy to finally be able to hold a meeting this year, as the community had been promised for a long time. Another record was still possible afterwards, because after the closing party you could sleep in the car on the exhibition site, which had the potential to become the largest electric car camping in the world.
