clean sea, excellent, checked in its state of health
The technical meeting, convened today to take stock of the bathing bans along the Romagna coast, resulting from the samples carried out by ARPAE on 26 July, allowed to focus some aspects on the more general theme of the quality of the waters of the coast of Emilia Romagna. The sea water control and monitoring system in our Region is one of the most punctual and transparent in Italy. Perhaps the most punctual and transparent, reporting every day and through public channels the evolution of the situation along the coastal stretch from Lidi di Comacchio to Cattolica. This system is the best guarantee for residents and tourists about the constant quality of the sea, whose 97 waters are certified as ‘excellent’ in 91 cases and ‘good’ in 6. We are therefore talking about a clean, excellent sea, controlled in the his state of health step by step. A method that teaches school in Italy and not only in Italy. A source of pride for Emilia-Romagna and for all the municipalities of its coast.
Having said all this, today’s meeting did not reveal certain elements regarding the reasons for the overrun of the regulatory parameters which occurred on July 26 28 points of the Romagna coast able to resolve the doubts of the case that occurred in the absence of any endogenous or exogenous cause known so far . On this Region, ARPAE and Ausl must, an opinion of those who subscribe to this note, scientifically investigate the facts to identify a hypothesis capable of avoiding improvised events like this for the future. And deepening also means carefully retracing the entire supply chain that brings the sample to the laboratory from the sampling at sea, without making any assumptions a priori. A working group on the subject, with the Municipalities, was asked both of the results and a new timely communication form to the local E of the withdrawals. In addition, we are sure that the Regional Tourism Department will immediately define a communication plan aimed at national and international media to enhance and promote the high quality of our sea.
