He accused Greece of achieving international agreements by crying and lying
An attempt was made by the Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, to demolish the Greek arguments, claiming that Greece achieves its goals by “crying” and saying that it is the “victim”. He announced new letters from Turkey, around its positions.
“There are areas where Greece is very specialized. One of them is that Greece cries and says that it is the victim when it has the most injustice. It exploits it in the best way when it is to its advantage in an international agreement,” Cavusoglu said speaking to the TV100 television network.
As ERT broadcasts, Cavusoglu he said: “We, as Turkey, do whatever is necessary for our just cause. For example, Greece is the only country in the world that claims 10 miles of airspace above its 6 miles of territorial waters. Of course, we say this nonsense in the letters we write. Even the US government says in its letter to Congress that this is against international law and is unacceptable.” And he went on to say that “the basic principles of Turkish foreign policy are clear. Peace within, peace in the world. You will reduce the number of your enemies and increase the number of your friends. Business and humanitarian foreign policy, strong foreign policy on the field and at the negotiating table. These are our mottos”.
Following his interview, the Turkish foreign minister said: “We ask Greece: ‘Why did you arm the islands, against the agreement?’ They say: “There is a threat from Turkey”. We ask what is the threat? They say “Turkey violated my inner space”. When Greece invades our internal space, our soldiers will naturally respond. But they claim a 10-mile right in 6-mile territorial waters and charge everyone who comes in.
Human rights
Greece really “has nothing to say when it comes to human rights. I will give one more example. Athens is criticized by everyone as the only capital without a mosque. They turned a place into a mosque. He made a club. This association has 9 directors. 5 of them are Orthodox, 4 are Muslim.”
Mr. Cavusoglu reiterated Turkey’s position that Greece is training terrorists and drowning migrants at sea. He claimed that Greece attacks Turkey every day and wondered: “. Are we going to be left empty-handed or silent because Greece is doing these things? prepare another letter. In the face of these lies, we are obliged to tell the truth about our own thoughts. Despite the decision of the Court of Human Rights, the name “Turk” cannot be used.
Then Mr. Cavusoglu he claimed that every time Turkey gives the right answers, Greece cries. He admitted that his country has difficulties in buying the F-16s, but is negotiating: “As Turkey, we would like to buy the F-16s. But we are not in a process that will tie our hands. We are continuing our negotiations with the United States and our other allies,” he said, according to the ERT report.
