In the night of Thursday 21 to Friday 22 July, the Dutch men arrived at the MPET container terminal at quay 1742 of the Deurganck dock. They were transferring a shipment of cocaine from a South American refrigerated container to another container. In total, the police seized 470 blocks of cocaine. The four suspects could be handcuffed and were developed for led by the investigating judge Dendermonde, who placed them under arrest warrant. The public prosecutor in East Flanders does not want to give any information about the case. “We can only announce that four people are in pre-trial detention,” said a spokeswoman.
According to various sources, the four men were brought into the terminal in a ‘Trojan container’, an official empty container that is driven into the terminal by a truck. In the container that the men were brought in, the police found improvised mattresses, sleeping bags, food and drink and all kinds of work materials.
