Scheinherr (Prague to himself): The construction of the subway and the development of the area must happen at the same time

Comment on the Facebook profile about the subway construction.
The construction of the subway and the development of the territory must happen at the same time. Petr Hlaváček and the Institute of Planning and Development of Prague – IPR are very aware of this. One does not work without the other. Building a subway in a field is meaningless, and building new city districts without a connection to high-capacity rail transport does not help the city. On the contrary, it locks new residents into cars. With Peter, we want to build a new city district of short distances. Locations where kindergartens, schools, polyclinics, parks and quality services will be created along with new apartments. And that’s exactly what will happen above the route of the D line.
After we started with PRAHA SOBĚ, Déčko had a contested zoning decision with the land owners and the agreements do not exist. We had to sit down at the table and act. Find the best solution for the well-being of the people of Prague and combine the private interests of the land owners with the public interest of the city. In the end, we succeeded and thanks to this we were able to successfully start the construction. With Metro D, we are correcting the debt of the past. The southern part of the city has never been provided with high-capacity rail transport, which allows people to reach the city center comfortably and quickly.
That is also why we started working on the fifth circular route of the Prague metro, line O. It connects the largest development and transformation areas located in Prague.
See what will grow above the D subway line and around its future station.
