Lyon and Groupama Stadium well off for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games
This Monday, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games revealed a large part of their secrets.
Slogan “Let’s open the games wide”a calendar, the prices of places (between 24 and 950 euros), the dates of the ticket offices and finally the list of sites confirmed to host the events of the biggest international sports competition.
As expected, Paris and its region will not have all the spotlights on them. For the surfing events for example, the events will take place in Teahupo’o in Tahiti.
The football tournaments, men’s and women’s, will also be relocated to the rest of the country. If the Parc des Princes will obviously be entitled to the two finals, the Groupama Stadium in Décines (which will be renamed Stade de Lyon during the Olympic Games) and the Beaujoire in Nantes will organize the small finals for the bronze medals. And Lyon offered a match for third place on the women’s podium. It will be August 9.
In addition to this exceptional meeting, the lair of Olympique Lyonnais will host 10 other meetings between July 24 and August 6, 2024, including two semi-finals (male and female).
However, no traces of the future LDLC Arena. Tony Parker, Jean-Michel Aulas and Bruno Bernard had written to Tony Estanguet a few months ago to try to convince him that the room in Décines, whose delivery is scheduled for the end of 2023, could organize basket meetings. The three leaders (ASVEL, OL, Métropole de Lyon) even imagined an Olympic “Basketball/Football” site at OL Vallée. Nothing will happen.
