The USK Prague basketball players were guided by the Italian coach Tabelini
Tabellini has only worked as a head coach for the youth teams of Treviso and also Boloni, with whom he won the junior league three times. With Treviso, he dominated the Italian championship of the twenties. After coming to USK, he will be in charge of the youngest team in the Czech NBL, in which he last took seventh place.
“We share (with USK management) the same mission – to watch a young player compete with anyone at the highest level. We will work more than hard to improve every day and play the best possible level of basketball every time we step on the boards,” he said. Tabellini in a press release.
USK bets on foreign coaches for a long time. Before King, the Croatian Dino Repeša, the Greek Chris Chugaz, the Slovenian Mirsad Alilovič and another American Ken Scalabroni also worked for the team. “The experience of recent seasons confirms us in continuing the strategy of cooperation with a foreign coaching school, which always moves our organization forward. His (Tabellini’s) profile of two long-term missions in top Italian programs, work in youth academies with an overlap into elite men’s basketball is a close scenario for USK and proof of conceptual work,” stated USK general manager Petr Jachan.
