1. City Tour
Do you think you already know everything about Hanover? Then you haven’t done a classic city tour yet. The circular tour takes you past the fascinating sights of Hanover without getting your feet dry – even with the roof open when the weather is good. The canal specially designed for children makes this tour very exciting and entertaining for the little ones in the family. Practical: You can get on or off the barrier-free hop-on hop-off city tour at any of the stops. Departure times 10.30 a.m., 12.30 p.m., 2.30 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. from the Tourist Information. 2. Neon Golf
How about a neon golf party? A very special miniature golf course awaits you in the middle of the city. Immerse yourself in new worlds in three different themed rooms. The black light and the 3D glasses make this mini golf game a very special experience, both on well-known tracks and on new, exciting courses. You first travel underwater, then further into the jungle and finally space shines in bright colors and shapes. It is open Monday to Thursday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 2 p.m. to midnight, Saturday from 10 a.m. to midnight and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. (last admission 75 minutes before closing time). 3. Virtual Reality
Discover foreign worlds, fight your way through the Orient, fly through space or experience a virtual escape room together: VR Galaxy is the first virtual reality room in downtown Hanover (Heiliger Straße 15-16). There you can immerse yourself in virtual worlds with up to four players at the same time and experience dozens of the latest multiplayer or single-player VR games. It works like this: You put on special glasses onto which a 3D image IS projected. You can move freely and observe a virtual environment by moving your head. A player pays 16.70 euros from Monday to Thursday, each additional player (up to four in total) pays one euro less. Opening times: Monday to Thursday 3pm to 8pm, Friday 3pm to 10pm, Saturday 12pm to 10pm and Sunday 12pm to 6pm. During the summer holidays, VR-Galaxy opens at 1 p.m. Monday to Friday. 4. Indoor flea market
That vintage wonderland offers junk, antiques and vintage treasures in a warehouse of almost 1,000 square meters. There’s nothing that doesn’t exist – I promise! Once a month, the holy halls are opened to all lovers of shabby chic, retro style or industrial design and offer, for example, old chairs for only five euros or grandma’s porcelain service. Address: Wohlenbergstraße 29. The Vintage Wonderland also provides information about current campaigns and special sales on its website Facebook site. With the “Vintage Wonderland” Michael Malkus (48), Thomas Kunze (39), Kathrin Kaßler (53) and Marco Winkler have realized a dream. Originally, the space in the Brink port was only planned as a warehouse – now it is an exhibition and sales room. “People are into it. I don’t think there is anything else in Hanover of this size,” says Marco Winkler. Parking spaces are available, very large pieces can also be delivered.

5. Go-karting
Hanover has two of the most modern indoor go-kart tracks in Northern Germany: Kart-o-Mania there is one in the city and one in Laatzen. Only electric karts are used on the slope in Hanover at Schlorumpfsweg 3 (390 meters long). Tickets from 12 euros (10 minute ride for children) and from 15 euros (adults). The track in Laatzen is even 450 meters long. Both railways are offering a “holiday special” for the summer holidays: From July 14, there will be go-karting from 12 noon to 6 p.m. without registration. Four different kart types are in use – from the Alpha-LPG for beginners and advanced users to the Sinus-ION, a premium electric kart for an absolute adrenaline rush. Helmet and overalls are provided free of charge, but a balaclava must be worn under the rental helmet (purchase price 3 euros).

6. Just take off
Children’s dreams come true in the flight simulator in Hanover: fly a Boeing 737 or an Airbus A320 into the sun. Experienced instructors provide guidance and help with take-off and landing. The fun lasts 90 minutes, 60 of which you take the wheel yourself. Las Vegas at night, Chicago or Hanover – there are a total of 24,000 airports to choose from. The participants choose their departure and destination airport themselves and also determine the weather conditions. From 149 euros, minimum age 12 years. HERE go to booking. If you wish, you can also get a video of your flight on a USB stick. Important: An FFP-2 mask should be worn during the simulation flight. An accompanying person may be present.

7. Off to the cave
The Baumannshöhle in the Harz Mountains is the oldest show cave in Germany. It was discovered in the 16th century by the miner Friedrich Baumann. Probably the best-known visitor to this clear stalactite cave is and remains Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. He visited the cave several times and gave his name to the largest cavity, the Goethe Hall. The Baumannshöhle is open daily from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. Viewing is only possible with a guide. There are tickets HERE on the Internet: 9.50 euros (adults), 6.50 euros (children 4-14 years).
