After many affairs, the STAN movement loses. His former politician, Petr Hlubuček, who is stepping down from the post of deputy mayor of Prague after being accused in the Dozimetr case (suspicion of corruption in the capital’s transport company), reduced the Austrian movement’s previous preferences by a few percent.
In Prague, it decreases by five percentage points to 4.3 percent. The Spolu coalition climbs up with a gain of 33.7 percent, ANO would choose 19.3 percent of people, the group Praha Sobě 12.7 percent and the Pirates 7.2 percent of respondents. If this were to happen in September, Bohuslav Svoboda from ODS would most likely become mayor for the second time.
In Brno, the most people would vote for the ODS and TOP 09 coalition, which would receive 28.2 percent of the vote. ANO would finish second with 19.8 percent, and Pirates would take third place with 9.1 percent. A coalition of STAN and the People’s Party would receive 6.8 percent of the vote. ODS politician Markéta Vaňková has a good chance of defending the mayoral seat in this city as well. Ostrava mayor Tomáš Macura (ANO) could win a third term. Originally, he did not want to run for office anymore, but due to the covid and war crisis, he decided to stay and try to lead Ostrava further.
