The belvedere in Parc d’Olhain will become, when it opens, the highest point in Pas-de-Calais. A title that has reinforced the attractiveness of this new infrastructure.
214 meters above sea level, it is at this height that the belvedere of the Olhain park will culminate. Launched in October 2021, the work will end on September 6, when it was due to end in June. A delay due to difficulties in the supply of materials and a lack of personnel.
Within two meters
The belvedere will dethrone the chimney of Alquines and its 212 meters of altitude. Yannick Audineau, director of the park, confides that the title of the highest point of the department “It’s no coincidence, during a reflection on realized that not much was missing for the belvedere to be the highest point of the Pas-de-Calais, so we added the small meters that were needed. »
The construction of the belvedere will have cost 2.3 million euros, it will be added to the many activities already present in the park and will offer its visitors a panoramic view of all of Artois.
