Blues rock guitarist and singer Ana Popovic will celebrate 20 years with a concert in Prague
The award-winning blues-rock guitarist, singer and composer Ana Popovic, in addition to performing at the Blues Alive festival in Šumper, will also play at Akropolis Palace on November 16.
This year, Ana Popovic celebrates 20 years “on tour”, tirelessly touring both solo with her six-member band and together with BB King, Buddy Guy, Jeff Beck, Joe Bonamassa and many others. She has released a total of twelve albums and two DVDs, Bruce Springsteen called her “a hell of a guitarist”, she has been nominated for seven Blues Music Awards.
Ana appeared on the covers of Vintage Guitar and Guitar Player magazines. won all of Ana’s albums topping the Billboard Blues Charts.
Ana estimates that there have been about 2,500 concerts in 20 years, and another 2,500 are planned. “I never get tired of it.” This enthusiasm is also supported on the album Live for LIVE, of which he says: “I have the best job in the world that allows me to lose myself in music. To perform with a fabulous band that connects musically with my every move and every idea that comes on stage, while also sparking their own musical background to bring out the best in us all.”
Ana Popovic fell in love with American blues as a child, starting at home in Belgrade, Serbia. She then moved to the Netherlands, where she studied jazz and world-music at the conservatory. After living in Amsterdam for over ten years, she moved to Memphis, Tennessee to record and collaborate with Southern musicians. Finally, in 2016, she moved with her family to Los Angeles, California, where she now lives.
