Prague – Cyclists who, according to the police, attacked and seriously injured a man walking a dog in Prague 10 at the beginning of July face up to ten years in prison. The victim ended up in the hospital with an open jaw fracture. The police are looking for a man suspected of disorderly conduct and grievous bodily harm. They published his identikit on website and people who know her should contact the emergency line 158. Police spokesman Jan Daněk told ČTK today.
The event happened at noon on Wednesday, July 6, i.e. on the national holiday commemorating the burning of Jan Hus. At the pedestrian crossing in Hornoměcholupská Street, a cyclist riding on the sidewalk began to run his bike over a dog and wanted the man and the dog to move out of his way, according to the spokesman. The dog handler responded by saying that you shouldn’t ride a bike on the sidewalk. The enraged cyclist immediately got off his bike and punched the dog handler twice in the face, then drove away from the scene together with a woman and a six-year-old girl who were also on the bike, the spokesperson described the incident and added that the dog handler had to undergo surgery after the attack.
In connection with the incident, according to Daňek, the police are looking for a Roma man, roughly 185 centimeters tall, with a massive build, wearing a gray tank top and dark shorts and speaking Czech. He was riding an older yellow-orange mountain bike, apparently sprayed with homemade spray.
