six municipalities recognized in a state of natural disaster
The department experienced major floods in 2020.
Six municipalities in Pas-de-Calais have been recognized as being in a state of natural disaster “for damage caused by floods and mudslides, flooding by rising water tables and landslides” which took place between 2020 and 2021 , said this to sell the prefecture of the department.
The municipalities of Bapaume are concerned in respect of land movements that occurred between December 15, 2020 and February 22, 2021 following “accumulations of precipitation with a return period of more than 10 years”, of Neuville-Saint-Vaast in respect of ground movements of November 30, 2021 and August 8, 2021, from Blangy-sur-Ternoise, in respect of floods and mudslides that occurred on May 7, 2022, from Éclimeux in respect of floods and mudslides that occurred on May 7, May 2022, of Saint-Rémy-au-Bois in respect of flooding by rising water tables, which occurred from February 4 to March 25, 2021 and of Carvin in respect of ground movement (excluding geotechnical drought) which occurred July 26, 2021.
In order to benefit from the compensation relating to the victims of natural disasters, the latter have a period of 10 days from this Friday to file a declaration of loss with their respective insurance companies.
In 2021, the departments of Nord and Pas-de-Calais experienced severe weather and major floods. In the North, an octogenarian had been found dead in her cave. The year 2022 was no exception and was marked by several cases of flooding.
