Health – Hanover – Corona incidence in Lower Saxony increased again slightly – health
Hanover (dpa / lni) – The corona numbers in Lower Saxony have risen again – albeit only slightly. The seven-day incidence was 916.3 on Wednesday – after 913.8 the day before, according to the Ministry of Health based on data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). The value indicates how many new infections per 100,000 inhabitants were reported within a week. Weekly comparison figures are not available.
However, the data do not provide a complete picture of the infection situation. Experts assume a high number of cases not recorded by the RKI – mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a disruption of daily values.
The hospitalization incidence is the key figure for evaluating the corona situation in Lower Saxony. The state government gave this value on Wednesday at 14.0, the day before it was 13.8. The exact number of patients per 100,000 inhabitants admitted to hospitals with a corona infection within a week. In Lower Saxony, 18,466 confirmed new infections were reported on Wednesday, 16 more people died with or from Covid-19.
The district of Wittmund reported the highest seven-day incidence in a comparison of the districts and urban districts of Lower Saxony with 2722.0, the lowest registered value in the district of Leer with 490.4.
In the smallest federal state of Bremen, the seven-day incidence on Wednesday was 735.3 after 745.4 the day before. 1057 new cases were reported there, and there were two more deaths related to corona infection.
