Danish miss participant lies flat
It happens after she must have felt accused by the newspaper of driving under the influence and sex in a nightclub.
It was last year that a journalist in Extraavisen asked the participant if she had been intoxicated and had sex at a public nightclub. She must have liked it very little.
– It is completely inconceivable that one of their journalists can accuse me of driving under the influence of drugs. I was fined for using my cell phone while driving. It was not driving at all as you have accused me of. In addition, their journalist asks that my girlfriend and I had sex on a toilet at a pub in Copenhagen, the former participant saw Extraavisen last week, and explained that she and her boyfriend were looking for their earrings after she lost them. .
It is uncertain why it should take so long to go hard against the newspaper, but the participant explains it like this:
– I have several times stated that you write a number of negative articles, which contain condescending information. I chose to wait a while to read how Extraavisen formulates itself in the various cases. And I think that was a lot of negative. When I came across a case that seemed very negative, it clicked for me, she says.
She continues to insist that the newspaper must change the pattern in order to reach people.
– It is enough that we have Ekstra Bladet, Expressen, Dagbladet and all these other newspapers that focus a lot on sex and conflicts, but we do not need more of them. Following such a pattern can lead to the media eventually stigmatizing people as a completely ordinary news item. This is not good for readers.
Furthermore, the former miss participant tells that she used strong words for Extraavisen. She is referring to this sentence:
– If I should decide to fuck one of the hottest boys on an outdoor toilet far up in the Alps in Austria, I will definitely inform Extraavisen immediately.
– These were not exactly the words I should have used. I could say it a little more cautiously based on seriousness, and I’m really sorry. I lie down flat.
Editor-in-chief of Extraavisen, Daniel DeNiazi says that it is allowed to show his and frustrations. He does not want to comment on the case itself, but says that the newspaper will take in what has been said by the former miss participant.
– We understand that at Extraavisen creates anger and frustration. It’s nice to see some people have feelings and opinions about the newspaper. It is important that we listen to what readers have to say. She must be absolutely sure that we can say with our hands on our hearts that the newspaper does not produce articles without us having tangible sources. If we ask, it is because we want to search for the truth, not something else.
DeNiazi says they will take up her case next month. There he will address how the newspaper can change in how the case is formulated. He admits that there has been some negative news aimed at participants in the various pageant competitions around the world.
– On the outside, it can seem very negative, but it is about illuminating events. We have to be very careful about how we refer to people. The work of journalism is about searching for the truth and asking critical questions. That’s why we never made a case for this. We did not have enough sources to suggest anything. If we do not ask, we will never get an answer to what we ask, concludes DeNiazi.
