The MSZP representative campaigned for Budapest Pride in the Parliament
Zita Gurmai, representative of the MSZP, spoke about the Budapest Pride series of events in her speech before the agenda, and said that LGBTQ people are excluded. He says action must be taken to prevent any atrocities from happening to them. State Secretary Balázs Fürjes responded to Gurmai’s statements.
Zita Gurmai complained in the Parliament on Tuesday that the politicians of the ruling party did not participate in any Pride event. He compared Pride to the fact that we live in a difficult situation today, and that members of the LGBTQ community are at a disadvantage. Gurmai spoke up for their rights and stated that MSZP will be there at Pride.
State Secretary Balázs Fürjes reacted to Gurmai’s statements and asked that
the left should not differentiate between Hungarians and Hungarians based on religious and sexual orientation.
According to the State Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office, Hungary is a free country and everyone chooses the lifestyle they want. therefore, they do not oblige or forbid anyone to do anything. Fürjes told me that
it is the MSZP that is in alliance with those small arrows, whose former candidate called Jews roof-slides, and the president of Jobbik called those who go to Pride aberrant.
According to Fürjes, they prefer to clarify among themselves on the left who can go where.
