Elementary school students ride scooters to physical education class
The “Sonnenstrahl campaign” donated a total of 1,000 euros to the Mühlenberg primary school in Hanover for the purchase of 25 scooters. They are urgently needed so that physical education classes can continue as usual after the holidays.
Hanover. Physical education at the Mühlenberg primary school in Hanover will no longer start in the sports hall after the summer holidays. Physical effort is required on the way there. Reason: The previous sports hall of the elementary school on Leuschnerstraße will be demolished in the course of the new school building. With the beginning of the new school year, the elementary school is moving to the sports hall of the Leonore Goldschmidt School (IGS Mühlenberg) for physical education. And it’s not just around the corner…
The school has now purchased 25 scooters to shorten the way to the sports hall for the students – which, according to Rohland, can probably take 20 minutes on foot for first graders. It was donated to her by the “Sonnenstrahl” association led by managing director Sigrid Schubach-Kasten. “We are very grateful that the association supports the innovative idea and that we can therefore expect to hold physical education classes,” says Vice President Wiebke Rohland (45).
