The head of Prague’s ANO wants to expel a Central Bohemian driver from the capital. The governor laughed at him – Forum24
Probably one of the biggest admirers of Andrej Babiš (ANO), the head of the Prague cell of his movement, Ondřej Prokop, came up with the unusual pre-election theme. He intends to fight against non-Prague drivers who park during the day in the capital. The bold slogan with which Prokop is going to the elections is “Prague must belong to the people of Prague”.
“A Prague driver must not be an enemy of the city and the streets of Prague must belong to the people of Prague, not Central Bohemia!” wrote Ondřej Prokop on social network. The head of the Prague cell of the ANO movement scalculated that “foreigners” who brazenly drive to Prague take up 200,000 parking spaces for the citizens of Prague. And he intends to turn it around. For illustrative purposes, he had his picture taken next to a car with a Central Bohemian espézette and a Ukrainian espézette. He has not yet presented what specific tool he wants to use to prevent people living outside of Prague from parking in Prague.

In the same way, Prague’s ANO does not deal with the fact that even a lifelong resident of Prague can buy a used car outside of Prague, and since the number plate is not tied to a permanent residence, he can park a car in Prague with, for example, an Ostrava or South Bohemian number plate. Alternatively, a person living outside of Prague can purchase a car with a Prague license plate.
Critics of Ondřej Prokop’s idea point out that, for example, ANO owner Andrej Babiš himself has a Central Bohemian license plate on his caravan. Similarly, ANO does not address the situation of people who have a company in Prague or a branch of their company outside of Prague. In addition, catchment parking lots P+R on the outskirts of Prague are already overcrowded and parking prices have recently become unmotivated.
The idea of fighting against people traveling to Prague from Central Bohemia or another region caught the attention of Central Bohemian governor Petra Pecková, who answered the head of the Prague cell of the ANO movement with insight. “Hey, Ondrej Prokop, normally up to 1,500 Praguers come to our cottages in Munich every weekend and buy burritos from the butcher shop on the bridge and also from the butcher shop on the square. It won’t be up to us. Central Bohemian burritos for Central Bohemia. We have the first point of a future memorandum,” she laughed with the governor for STAN to the head of the Prague cell ANO.
Pecková is far from alone. Prokop sparked a debate on social networks, in which he received a number of critical posts. The head of the Prague ANO cell is known on social networks as an endless and very agile admirer of Andrej Babiš. In recent days, for example, he praised his participation in the Babiš meeting in Horní Počernice. However, it was anything but a successful event by Andrej Babiš. More detractors than fans were waiting for him, moreover, he took pictures with pro-Russian activists and the owner of ANO finally had to clean his team into a caravan.
