Frankfurt am Main (ots)
On Saturday, June 16, 2022, the fire and rescue services had their hands full. The 12 hours after the start of the shift at 7 a.m. were already eventful.
Around 9:20 a.m., the fire brigade in Alt-Rödelheim had to respond to a fire in an attic apartment. The fire made two apartments uninhabitable, and a cat was rescued along with a resident. Two squads wearing respiratory protection from the Rödelheim volunteer fire brigade and two squads from the professional fire brigade were deployed. Electricity and gas had to be shut off in the building. The reconnaissance drone was also used for aerial photographs during the reconnaissance. A water rescue operation took place around 11 a.m., one person in the Main was able to leave the water again with the support of the water police.
At 15:45 there was a traffic accident in Nieder-Ursel. Since one person was suspected to be trapped, a large contingent was on the way there. On site, however, all people were already freed and could be treated directly by the rescue service. Expiring operating materials were included. In addition, a large number of triggered fire alarm systems, small fires and income from assistance came into play, which made sure that the fire brigade had to appear constantly throughout the city.
The same trend is clearly evident in the rescue service. In the inner city area, but also in the city districts, there was a significantly increased number of operations and a higher utilization of the available resources.
