Young people (12 to 18 years old) arrested for terrorizing Amsterdam metro stations | Inland
The youths were involved in several incidents. For example, a 17-year-old suffered a broken jaw at Central Station in January after being assaulted. In March, the young people will have trouble and kicked a woman. Five more violent incidents followed that same day.
Several people filed a complaint. “It clearly showed that the abuse and intimidation left their mark on the images. They feel unsafe on the street because of their experiences,” said the police, who put together a special investigation team that collects all incidents and camera images.
The incidents are all at metro stations of the North/South line. Many of the young people, who are related to each other from school, are already known to the police. The suspects have been heard and the right foot commissioner has. They will have to appear in court at a later date.
The documents have been banned from contact and location, police said. They are not allowed to start with the co-defendants and no longer at the stations. That not all of them have received such a ban is because they are suspected of various things, according to a police spokesperson. “It concerns the best many incidents, in which the young people in different compositions were involved. So that establishment per person.”
