The rematch is scheduled for a week later in Eden. In the 2nd preliminary round of the European Conference League, Sparta will also appear, which will start against Norwegian Stavanger at home.
St Joseph’s clash with Larne saw a total of 169 minutes of play waiting for a goal. In the 78th minute of Thursday’s rematch, the home team’s Randall was sent off after a second yellow card, and immediately substitute Valarino scored the only goal.
The team from Gibraltar has not yet been played by Czech clubs. St Joseph’s is the oldest football club in the British Overseas Territory in the Iberian Peninsula, founded in 1912. At the end, it has one championship title from 1996, in the last seven league seasons it finished in third place. The club now ranks 320th in the UEFA rankings.
Both Slavia and Sparta have to go through three preliminary rounds on their way to the group. Any hesitation would mean they would not play in the main stage of the cups in the autumn.
