MTI’s coverage at 9:59 p.m.:
Momentum organized a demonstration against the amendment of the law on the itemized tax (kata) of low-tax entrepreneurs on Wednesday evening in Budapest, on Kossuth Square.
Ferenc Gelencsér, the president of the party, announced at the demonstration that an extraordinary parliamentary session would be called in order to cancel the amendments. If the Parliament does not support the initiative, the party will turn to the Constitutional Court (AB).
They only ask the President of the Republic, Katalin Novák, not to sign the amendment to the law, or to request a norm control from AB.
The party chairman believed that in the past 12 years, the politicians of the ruling party “have already stolen everything that can be moved. But this is not enough for them, they also want to steal our future,” he said.
According to him, before the elections, they lied that they can protect the country from war and crisis, but not only do they protect Hungarians from the crisis, but they are the ones who cause the crisis.
In fact, food prices are also seriously rising, with the weakening of the forint, the price of raw materials is skyrocketing, which makes it impossible for businesses that operate the economy, he added.
In this situation, Hungarian society must stand united, as this power only comes from strength – said Ferenc Gelencsér.
Writer Andrea Tompa believed that the purpose of the law amendment is to suppress the independent creative sector, further segregate society and designate new hate groups.
According to lawyer Sándor Ésik, the amendment to the law serves the strengthening of the black economy, as the time may return when people are forced to keep track of their income in a checkered notebook. “They want you to be criminals, like those who voted for this law,” he added.
The Budapest Police Headquarters (BRFK) informed the police that the meeting announced at Kossuth square ended at 7:08 p.m., and a group of participants leaving the scene obstructed tram and car traffic on the boulevard at Nyugati square. Not long after 8:30, another group obstructed traffic on the Nyugati tér overpass, after the police they were called to clear the roadway – they wrote, and then indicated that car traffic started on the Nyugati tér overpass at 7:57 p.m.
