Börse Express – Platform Industry 4.0 Austria: Management re-elected, two newcomers complete the management team of the association
Vienna (OTS) – July 13, 2022 – Continuity & change in the board of the Austrian Platform Industrie 4.0: Chairman Kurt Hofstädter (Director Digital Strategy CEE at Siemens AG Austria) and his deputy Mariana Karepova (President of the Austrian Patent Office; nominated by BMK). re-elected at the annual general meeting on July 8, 2022 and will remain at the helm of the association for two more years. With Alois Wiesinger and Tobias Schweitzer, there are also two new appointments to the platform’s eleven-strong executive board.
Technical expertise in the board and in the now nine expert groups has been a constant of the Platform Industry 4.0 Austria for seven years. This was also confirmed by the recent election of the board of directors, which took place during the annual general meeting in Baden near Vienna.
In addition to the re-election of the top management, the mandates of Sabine Hesse (Managing Director of the Metal Technology Industry Association; nominated by FMTI), Isabella Meran-Waldstein (Head of Research, Technology & Innovation, Federation of Industry; nominated by IV), Marion Mitsch (Managing Director of the Association of Electrical and electronics industry; nominated by FEEI), and Peter Schleinbach (Federal Secretary of the Production Union; nominated by PRO-GE). Maria Kubitschek (Deputy Director and Head of Economics, AK Vienna) is leaving the Executive Board, Tobias Schweitzer (Deputy Head of the Department of Economics and Statistics, AK Vienna; nominated by BAK) will follow her from September 1, 2022.
Horst Bischof (Vice Rector for Research at TU Graz) will continue to represent the universities, as will Wilfried Enzenhofer (Managing Director of Upper Austrian Research GmbH) the non-university research institutions. The entrepreneurial perspective is represented by Christoph Krammer (Head of Technology Control Contract Manufacturing Magna Steyr) and Alois Wiesinger (CTO FILL Ges.mbH), who succeeds Wolfgang Rathner (former Managing Director of FILL Ges.mbH).

We want to continue on this proven path of the past few years with a highly experienced Management Board team that comes from a wide variety of areas,” says a pleased Kurt Hofstädter. “In an increasingly digital production environment, technological innovations and the necessary qualifications for the working world of tomorrow are the key to success,” concludes Hofstädter.
The association has successfully taken on the task of bundling politics, science, business, employers and employees in matters of digitization. The founding members include the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK), the Federal Chamber of Labor (BAK), the Association of the Electrical and Electronics Industry (FEEI), the Association of the Metal Technology Industry (FMTI), the Federation of Industrialists ( IV) and the production union (PRO-GE).

Since it was founded in 2015 by the Federal Ministry for Climate Change (BMK), the initiative has developed into an established authority on the subject of Industry 4.0 together with employer and employee associations.
