Hannover Regents remain on play-off course
Minimum target achieved: Hannover Regents remain on play-off course
Hanover. The baseball men of the Hanover Regents have achieved their minimum goal. “We didn’t want to come back empty-handed after two three-hour drives,” said team spokesman Lilean Buhl. That works. With the Kiel Seahawks they lost the first game 5:10, but they won the second game 10:5 and remain on the play-off course as fourth in the table in the 2nd league north-east.

The start of the first game was promising. The regents led 5:1. But when Kiel exchanged their pitcher, Hannover had no chance against his throws. “Our defense wasn’t particularly up to par either,” said Buhl. After the 5:4, the Regents lost the connection in just one inning and were 5:9 behind. “We didn’t wake up from our afternoon nap,” said Buhl.
Knölke hits brilliantly, the attack remains patient
In the second game, too, the Regents initially gambled away their 2-0 lead. With only two innings left to play, the scoresheet showed a 2-5 deficit. The Regents closed the gap to 4:5 in the penultimate round. In the final section everything worked again. Florian Knölke struck brilliantly, the attack remained patient, but still scored the essential points. “We saved these six runs for the end,” said Buhl. The mood for the second three hours on the Autobahn was saved.
