Genoa, 10 July 2022 – The third edition of the Genova Reloaded Festival continues on Monday 11 July 2022 with three appointments: at the Bistrot Sivori, at Palazzo Ducale and at the Circuito sul Mare arena in Sturla. It is the day of Giuseppe Piccioni, one of the most interesting directors of Italian cinema and president of the technical jury of the Genova Reloaded National Competition. Meet the public in front of an aperitif at 6.30 pm at the Bistrot Sivori (Salita Santa Caterina, tel. 375 7200337, free admission) and at 9.00 pm in the Cortile Maggiore of Palazzo Ducale presents his latest film “The shadow of the day”, of which it follows the projection. A special event that allows you to get to know an author up close, right after a juncture in his production, when he returned to shoot in his hometown Ascoli Piceno, 34 years after his extraordinary debut with “Il grande Blek”. “The shadow of the day”, played by Riccardo Scamarcio and Benedetta Porcaroli, is set in the late thirties. Luciano, a sympathizer of fascism, is the owner of a restaurant. Along with the troubling signs of something about to happen in the world, he confronts Anna. Luciano’s life will never be the same again. Piccioni will be interviewed by Giorgio Viaro, together with Alessandro Giacobbe artistic director of the festival organized by Circuito / Alesbet.
At the same time in the arena of Sturla Circuito sul Mare there is the screening of the fourth film in competition, “A Chiara” by Jonas Carpignano, winner of the David di Donatello for best leading actress, Swamy Rotolo. It is Giulia’s eighteenth birthday, the eldest daughter of a family from Gioia Tauro. Her sister Chiara is 15 years old and is in the phase of life in which she begins to ask herself many questions. However, when her father Claudio escapes the police, the questions that Chiara asks her family become uncomfortable: she is not old enough to understand, she does not know that there are things that it is better not to know and things that are better do not say. But Chiara can’t shut up and doesn’t stop looking for answers, from that father to whom she is deeply attached and who has just revealed a side mainly of himself completely unknown to her.
The six works competing for the national competition “Genova Reloaded” – “Ariaferma” by Leonardo di Costanzo, “Small body” by Laura Samani, “The legionary” by Hleb Papou, “A Chiara” by Jonas Carpignano, “L’Arminuta ”By Giuseppe Bonito and“ Giulia ”by Ciro De Caro and Rosa Palasciano – are submitted to the evaluation of three juries. In addition to the Best Film Award, conferred by the technical jury composed of Maura Delpero, Luca Massa and chaired by Giuseppe Piccioni, the “Young Jury” Award and the Audience Award will be awarded. Each spectator can express his opinion by voting yes or no on the ballots to be posted in the ballot box at the end of each screening. The winner of the Genova Reloaded 2022 Award as Best Film is guaranteed a series of screenings in theaters or in the Circuito arenas, in line with the concrete objective of promoting viewing in theaters.
