Adventure for passengers flights from Heraklion to Athens, for more than three hours waiting for take off
The inconvenience was great for passengers flying from Heraklion, Crete with final destination Athens. Although the flight was scheduled for 15:20 on Sunday, take-off was delayed while everyone was in their seats.
To the persistent questions of the passengers, the crew members explained that there is a problem with the aircraft’s engine and the engineers are looking into the failure. Time passed and no answers were given about the seriousness of the problem or whether it was safe to take off the particular plane.
Several passengers asked to disembark and then, a confrontation started between the passengers, the pilot and the crew members. A short time later, as many passengers as they wished were allowed to disembark.
In the end, most of the passengers chose to get off the plane and by 6 pm the problem had not been resolved.
