Traveling by train between Kladno and Prague should be faster thanks to the modernization of the line
In the more than 15-kilometer section, connecting to the line from Prague “to the airport”, double-tracking and electrification are planned, which significantly contributes to increasing transport capacity, but also to speeding up travel and increasing its comfort. However, Deputy Governor Jiří Snížek (Pirates) with competence for the area of regional development and spatial planning also provides other, “green” connections.
“I am glad that the Railway Administration managed to take another step towards the construction of a faster railway connection between Prague and Kladno. “Living in cities and traveling by electric train warms the planet less than living in family houses in the suburbs and commuting to Prague by fossil fuel car,” he stated. By the way – he himself is known for living in Cologne – and the train has been his favorite means of transport since his studies.
The reconstruction of the winter house is going according to plan, the Knights are preparing for approval at the end of August
He expressed his opinion on Facebook – and confirmed to Deník that, according to him, the massive construction of family houses does not make sense from the point of view of sustainability. “They are more of a burden for the municipality,” he said, adding that then longer roads, sewage lines, public lighting need to be built and maintained… According to him, these points of view are also to be discussed at the seminar that the region is preparing for August 16 for representatives municipalities and cities. The debate is about what needs to be remembered when creating municipal spatial plans. “So that fifty years from now they don’t come to the county asking for help: our school, sewer system, or something else is collapsing – because we drew the territorial plan incorrectly fifty years ago,” they explained.
Change people’s demands and habits
That we can expect debates is already indicated by the discussion that Snížek had on the social network with his party colleague Petr Kapounk (entrepreneur and designer of optical networks, who is a representative in Prostějov) – precisely in response to his statement about living in cities and traveling by electric train in connection with the modernization of the railway to Kladno. “For those who live in family houses, it will be significantly easier to buy an electric car than for those who live in a block of flats in the city,” argued Kapounek, that everything has its “pros” and “cons”. However, they agreed that in the end even electric cars will not fit in the city centers…

I am not convinced that Deputy Governor Snížek thinks it is better to build cities with short distances, where you can walk everywhere, than “settlement mush”, i.e. large fields dotted with large plots of land with family houses. “It’s better both in terms of investment and operating expenses. And also from the point of view of the environment,” he summarized. With the fact that Prague and its surroundings are growing at a rate of 30,000 people a year – and this situation, which has an analogy in the republic only in the vicinity of Brno, needs to be addressed.
New tracks, new stops
The modernized and electrified line from Prague to Kladno, where two tracks will be available instead of one, will bring barrier-free travel with the possibility of riding at speeds of up to 140 km/h. The part will be run on a new route (a new Malé Přítočno stop will also be created on this new section; on the other hand, today’s Unhošť stop is expected to be cancelled). The Hostivické station will undergo a major reconstruction, the Jeneč station will be completely changed, and the Pavlov stop will undergo a complete reconstruction. In addition to the new Malá Přítočno stop, the Hostivice-Jeneček and Pletený Újezd stops will also be created. Over a thousand parking spaces will also be built around the station and bus stops – in addition to the 461 spaces offered by the hospitality car park, there will be P+R parking lots in Jenč (256 spaces) and Malé Přítočné (384 spaces). Railroad crossings will disappear on the busiest roads – they will be replaced by level crossings.
