The Feyenoord flags can be removed from the attic again, because last Friday, July 1, the official kick-off of the end of Pride Month took place. The straight community looks forward every year to this period of festivities that revolve around honoring and celebrating their sexuality. After 30 whole days of oppression and blackening of the occasional gay on TV, the streets finally turn gray, and Gaastra coats. We asked the straight community how they are going to celebrate their heterosexuality.

Pepin (26)
Pepijn likes that he can be open about his sexuality these months. “Last month it became the norm not to be straight, so out of a kind of shame you actually hide it a bit. But it is now time to celebrate my identity.” You can find him special time every weekend at his favorite straight bar where he will be singing “beer and tits” exuberantly. Nice to see.

Chris (32)
Big boy Chris, or as everyone likes him on behalf of himself: Chris, has a lot of fun planned. Next weekend he will go to the Hornbach for a new drill. In the months that follow, he will be drilling holes. In walls, shelves and floors, sometimes a ceiling. Fancy.

Sjoerd (13)
During Pride Month, Sjoerd regularly had to see LGBTQI-related posts on the Instagram of NOS stories. He had a day job to respond with wisdom like: “dirty gays, they shouldn’t be like that!!1!!111”, and “NOS is GAY like if you like that too.” For Sjoerd, spending is therefore primarily a good time to take some well-deserved rest.

Rita (54)
Rita has made a whole plan for the coming months. “We have to make every moment a party.” Last weekend she and her husband enjoyed a meal at the pancake house before kick-off and next week there is already a lot of fun planned. Monday potatoes with haricot verts, Tuesday airfryer, Wednesday to the Chinese, Thursday soup with meatballs from the butcher, Friday stew with gravy, Saturday large portion of balls at Ikea, Sunday Kwalitaria with Viennetta.

Jane (22)
For Janneke, the months of July to May are the best months of the year. She prefers to cycle to Bataviastad with her friend Joris as often as she can. After a carpaccio sandwich at the Bakker Bart she can take it again and Joris spends the hour on a chair at the changing rooms of the Etam. A perfect day. Still, Janneke is most looking forward to beating up lesbians while going out.
