Covid-19 in Luxembourg: 1,379 new contaminations
The government communicates on the latest figures available in the Grand Duchy regarding the evolution of the Covid-19 epidemic.
New contaminations reported this Tuesday, July 5: 1,379 (vs. 803 on Friday)
Number of patients in care intensifies: 0 (26 hospitalized patients in total)
New deaths linked to Covid-19: 1 (toll of 1,095 deaths since the start of the epidemic)
Number of PCR tests performed: 3,261 (vs. 2,198 on Monday)
Positivity rate: 36.53 % (against 36.53% on Friday)
Vaccine doses administered (3rd injection included): 323
Total doses of vaccine administered (3rd injection included): 1,286,512
The weekly balance sheet still on the rise
During the week of June 27 to July 3, the number of infected people increased by 28%from 4,485 to 5,741. The number of PCR tests is also on the rise again, after stagnating last week, from 11,131 to 14 201.
As of July 3, the number of active infections has increased to reach the 10,488 cases, there were 8,834 on June 26. The number of people healed has increased to 255,322 (compared to 251,237 the previous week). The average age of people infected with Covid-19 is slightly up, 39.9 years old.
On the other hand, only 2 new deceased are to be deplored (against 7 last week), the average age of people is 69 years old.
At the hospital level, 19 new entries positive patients occurred in the normal care unit, compared to 13 the previous week. In intensive care, the number of occupied beds fell from 2 to 1. The average age of hospitalized patients is 53 years.
Over this period, the effective reproduction rate (RT eff) decreased to 1.02 (1.11 the previous week) while the positivity rate remains stable and stands at 40.43% (against 40.29% last week). The incidence rate increased to 890 cases per 100,000 inhabitants over 7 days, compared to 695 cases per 100,000 inhabitants the previous week.
Finally, 1,676 doses vaccines were administered: 76 people received a first dose and 140 a second dose. As for the complementary doses, 866 people received a first dose, 592 a second complementary dose and 2 a third dose. The total number of vaccines administered as of July 4 is 1,286,324. 474,011 people present a complete vaccination schedule, which corresponds to a vaccination rate of 78.8%.
