Verufin Gleirscher OG: Family matters are taboo on the soccer field and in the brokerage office | AssCompact
According to the 2022 business succession study on the “Betrieb-zu-haben.at” platform, two-thirds of all those named conflicts with the business were the most common problem. This can be avoided if the basic attitude is right: “At verufin Gleirscher OG we are partners and not father and son. Everything is discussed between us as partners and decided together. But the essential aspect here is really to keep family matters out of the company and to discuss and consider topics objectively and professionally,” is the credo of the Innsbruck insurance brokers, “but we never had any problems here, because we used to be in football worked together in different constellations – coach & player, coach & coach, player & player.”
Great attention was paid to digitization
The impetus for founding the brokerage office came from outside: “Our former cooperation partner informed us at the end of 2019 that he was ceasing his activities in active sales. So we have to think about something. At that time we had two sole proprietorships and only mediated insurance contracts. We came to the conclusion relatively quickly that we wanted to merge our two companies. Above all, it was important for us to found an independent company that would be able to do business in the long term. That’s why we founded verufin Gleirscher OG and joined wefox GmbH and Infina Credit Broker GmbH. Here we paid great attention to digitization and, in our opinion, made a good decision,” father and son are convinced.
Within Verufin, father Otmar takes care of the brokerage fees and the broker advisors, son Philipp takes care of the bookkeeping, IT issues and the entire financing area. Customer support in the insurance sector is taken care of by both of them together. The target group are private customers as well as EPU and SMEs. The customer base consists of 85% private customers and 15% commercial customers. New customers are mainly generated by recommendations and personal contacts.
The brokerage office is geared towards growth: “There are only two of us at the moment. In the course of the year we want to add a back office employee to our team. We want to build a solid team that is sustainable and adapted to our portfolio.”
verufin works mainly on a commission basis, the Innsbruck insurance brokers charge fees depending on the effort involved in arranging fund policies and for the settlement of third-party claims.
