Red Bull Salzburg top again in “a different kind of table” – football
Red Bull Salzburg ends up back at the top of the “table of a different kind”.
For the second time after 2020, the series champion gets the maximum number of 70 points awarded by its players. In the 2nd league, Salzburg’s cooperation club FC Liefering took the top spot with 69 points in the survey conducted by the “Footballers’ Association” (VdF).
A total of seven questions were asked of the professionals. The punctuality of the payment of the benefit WAS queried, as well as the clarity of the contracts, the continued payment of wages in the event of findings, the exchange of information between management and the team, the image of the club, medical care and whether available equipment is available.
Klagenfurt is at the bottom of the Bundesliga table
Behind Salzburg follow Sturm Graz (64), Austria (61), Rapid (59), Ried (59) and Altach (58) in places two to six.
In the “lower half of the table” are relegated Admira (58), WAC (54), WSG Tirol (53), LASK (51), Hartberg (49) and Austria Klagenfurt (43).
In the case of the Klagenfurt team, the medical care is criticized in particular, with the LASK the image of the club was also below average with a 4.
“Payment behavior in professional football is right”
Bottom of the 2nd league is Wacker Innsbruck. The Tyroleans had to withdraw from professional football at the end of the season due to financial worries. The exchange of information and the image of the club are particularly criticized by their own players.
“It’s positive that we can say again this year that the payment behavior in Austrian professional football is right, apart from Wacker Innsbruck, of course,” states VdF General Secretary Gernot Baumgartner.
There is a need to catch up in the area of appropriate equipment. Clubs need to improve here.
