The material and intangible cultural heritage of San Marino is the protagonist
It was presented this morning at a press conference – in the presence of the Secretary of State for Education and Culture Andrea Belluzzi, the Director of the Tourism and Culture Department Filippo Francini, the Cultural Institutes Vito Testaj and the Professor of the University of the Republic of San Marino Riccardo Varini – the full program of activities that will take place on Thursday 7 July on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of the inscription of the Historic Center of San Marino and Monte Titano in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The celebrations, which began yesterday in the late afternoon with the cutting of the ribbon and the opening of the Second Cesta Tower by the San Marino Music Institute, in the presence of the Secretaries of State Andrea Belluzzi and Stefano Canti, will then continue on Thursday.
It will be possible to take free guided tours of the Stamp and Coin Museum, the National Gallery, the Pinacoteca San Francesco, the First and Second Tower with extended evening openings until 11.00 pm. Same thing, at 9.30 and at 19.00, for the exhibition ‘Napoleon, the Republic, the Republics’ (reservations and information at 0549 882248) and, at 11.30, at 16.30 and at 21.30, for the Stamp and Coin Museum (reservations and information on 0549 882452).
At the Aula Magna of the University of San Marino (Ancient Monastery of Santa Chiara) starting from 6.00 pm, the event for the presentation of research projects and ‘SAN MARINO – A walled city heritage of humanity’ will be held. The opening greeting of the Secretary of State for Education and Culture, Andrea Belluzzi, will be followed by the presentation and preview screening of the film, made in collaboration by the San Marino National Commission for UNESCO, Upper Secondary School and San Marino RTV and the presentation of the research by the Degree Courses in Design of the University of the Republic of San Marino, aimed at the collection of case studies and the application of co-design methodologies for the enhancement of the cultural and intangible material heritage of micro territories fortified.
At 6.00 pm Maestro Massimiliano Messieri will conduct a concert at the Basilica del Santo. Admission is free and no reservation is required. Guided tours of the Museums are joined this year by those to discover the historic center. Two times, one in the afternoon at 18.00, one in the evening at 22.00. At 8.00 pm, on the occasion of his fourth birthday, it will be possible to visit the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art for free (reservations and information at 0549 888241). The celebrations will culminate at 9.00 pm with the most institutional moment of the Military Band Concert which will accompany the voice of Sara Jane Ghiotti in the evocative setting of Piazza della Libertà . The appointment will be honored by the participation of the Captains Regent, Their Excellencies Oscar Mina and Paolo Rondelli.
