Bulgaria is the leader in the Balkans in terms of the number of foreign coaches in the elite
In the past season, a record was added to the national football team – just over 40% of all football players who played were born outside Bulgaria (176 out of 439 in total). Despite the fact that he has not closed the transfer window, during the new upcoming campaign in the efbet League, this record is expected to fall, writes “Mach Telegraf”. But there is another curious thing about the legionnaires in the Bulgarian championship – the huge number of foreign coaches.
Zaghi: We are ready for the start of the championship, we have good players
The new season will start with six non-Bulgarian specialists – Ante Shimundja (Ludogorets), Sasha Ilic (CSKA – Sofia), Azrudin Valentich (Botev Plovdiv), Zlatomir Zagorcic (Slavia), Slavko Matic (Septemvri Sofia) and Fulvio Pea ( Heber).
This will be a tied record, the last time it was in the 2008/09 season. At that time, the six foreign coaches in the elite were Dragoljub Simonovic (Sliven), Dragan Kanatlarovski (Loko Pd), Dragomir Okuka (Loko Sf), Slobotan Stasevic (Spartak Vn), Nadzi Shensoy (Belasitsa) and Stevica Kuzmanovski (Slavia).
According to this indicator, Bulgaria is the leader in the Balkans, with only Greece equaling the largest number of foreign coaches. For reference, Serbia relies entirely on its own specialists, as does Albania and North Macedonia. There are two legionnaires in Romania, and three foreigners in Bosnia, Slovenia and Croatia.
