Antwerp Waterbus ticket from 3 to 4 euros | Antwerp
AntwerpThe Waterbus is becoming more expensive. Upgrade the price of a ticket from 3 to 4 euros. This was decided by the Flemish government on Friday.
In 2017, the Waterbus connected Antwerp with Kruibeke and Hemiksem for the first time. In the years that followed, additional stopping points were added on the Scheldt, such as Kallo. There are eight in between.
It was initially an initiative of the Antwerp Port Authority, but last year the operation was transferred to the Flemish Agency for Maritime Services and Coast (MDK).
That will start the prices for the first time since the start in 2017. From August 1, the price of a single ticket from 3 to 4 euros. That of a return ticket goes from 5 to 6.5 euros and that of a day ticket from 12.5 to 15 euros. The reduction rates for, among others, young people and the elderly are also included.
“Definitely is unavoidable with fuel prices and yields,” says the Agency’s Peter Van Camp. “Subscription prices are up slightly and remain unchanged as we continue to encourage commuting along the stream.”
An annual subscription costs 685 euros.
