Balázs Orbán: Another American recognition came because Hungary said no to the minimum tax
The political director of the prime minister presented a letter to the ambassador in Washington on his community page.
In his post, Balázs Orbán wrote: “Another recognition has been received from overseas for saying that Hungary has said no to the proposal for a global minimum tax. ”
Explain that you would like to thank the Republican Congressmen Adrian Smith and Mike Kelly, the heads of the US House of Commons’ Committees on Trade and Tax Policy.
In a letter to the Washington ambassador, Szabolcs Takács explained:
- I respect Hungary’s sovereign right to set its own tax standards without influencing states with higher tax rates;
- and they understand that our country wants to protect its investment-friendly tax system.
“In their letter, MPs also suggested that the Hungarian government and congressional Republicans directly negotiate their position on the global minimum tax. It’s good to see that we’re not alone on the ground of realities, and
there are also those in the United States who have realized that imposing a higher tax, especially in an economic situation of war and sanctions, would be a serious mistake. ”
