Perpignan: between popular ball and Belgian festival, the lively summer of the Place de Belgique
This Friday, July 1, the popular ball is the big meeting of this series of events organized on the place of Belgium, in the district of the station of Perpignan.
Reviving a tradition that dates back to the 19th centurye century, the prowess of the Perpignan la Gare association and the station animation committee is remarkable. This Friday, July 1, the big popular ball in the Gare district will animate Place de Belgique in Perpignan from 8 p.m. until 2 a.m. If the association and the committee have renewed with this meeting for eleven years, this same event has punctuated the district of the XIXe century until the 1950s.”We still have inhabitants of the station who remember itt”, assure Béatrice Soulé, president of the animation committee and Benjamin Régis, president of the Perpignan la Gare association.
This Friday, July 1, from 8 p.m., the group specializing in K-Méleon covers will provide the appetizer. Traditionally again, for the tenth time (out of eleven editions) the System Without Interdit will be responsible for the atmosphere from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m.
Every Friday in July, Place de Belgique will be the scene of a cultural and popular event. On July 8, Lemon Grass in the first part and BAAD, the group carried by Charles Jesus-Pret, will tread the boards of the Concert de la Gare. On Friday, July 15, The Spider-Man Movie will air at 9:30 p.m. in an outdoor screening. On Friday July 22, the Belgian National Day will be offered with waffles and mussels and fries. And especially with the Franco-Belgian committee.
All these events are free, even the open-air movie screening. Food and bar areas will be offered to participants.
