The new Toulouse-Francazal airport celebrated its 10th anniversary
Toulouse-Francazal airport opened its doors to businesses 10 years ago. It now hosts around thirty companies and 400 employees.
the new airport of Toulouse-Francazal has just celebrated its 10th anniversary. the assessment of this first decade is positive for the platform located in the municipalities of Cugnaux and Portet-sur-Garonne. The site has indeed succeeded in its conversion.
As a reminder, the former military airport was hosted in 1934 at the first base of the French Air Force, BA 101. The latter was dissolved on September 1, 2009 and the airfield closed its doors. Two years later, the very first companies settled on the site.
Thirty companies at Toulouse-Francazal airport
Managed by the Toulouse-Francazal Airport operating company (Sefta) and the engineering and infrastructure management group Edeis, the aerodrome now has about thirty. These companies are all specialized in aeronautics and new mobility.
These include ATR, Tarmac Aerosave, Aura Aero, Fly Simulation, Scalian, Sud Aero Formation, Harmony Aerospace and Easymile and Hyperloop. The site also hosts nearly 200 business flights each year and hosts the airline JetCorp.
Developments carried out within the airport in ten years
Currently, more than 400 people are employed at Toulouse-Francazal airport. To support the conversion of the airport platform, 17 million euros were mobilized in total.
These investments have notably made it possible to construct no less than 1,500 m2 of new buildings and 1,800 m of tracks over an area of 170 hectares. 190,000 m2 of parking areas have also been renovated and 60,000 m2 have been created. 35,000 m2 of premises and hangars have also been rehabilitated.
