The KGB of Belarus has added Sergei Tikhanovsky and Igor Losik to the list of “terrorists”
The KGB of Belarus added 23 more people to the “list of terrorists”. Among them are video blogger Sergei Tikhanovsky and Radio Liberty media consultant Igor Losik, who were sentenced to 18 and 15 years in a penal colony in the “Tikhanovskiy case”.
“The basis for the acceptance of Tikhanovsky in this list is the entry into force of the verdict recognizing him “guilty of committing crimes under Article 130” (“Inciting racial, national, religious or other social hatred or discord”) and 293 (“Mass confessions” ) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus,” the KGB said in a statement.
Now there are 870 names in the “list of terrorists” of the KGB of Belarus.
Belarusian video blogger Sergei Tikhanovsky, who is supposed to be nominated for the presidency of Belarus, on December 14 was rejected for 18 years in prison in a high-security colony. This is the longest term that Lukashenka’s polywood transfer received: presidential candidate Viktor Babariko received 14 years in prison, Maria Kolenikova – 11 years.
According to the investigation, blogger Sergei Tikhanovsky and his associates have been preparing and spreading riots in Belarus for a long time, BelTA informs. At the same time, it is worth noting that some of the defendants in the case did not even personally know each other. The investigation believes that Tikhanovsky, through the YouTube channel and the resonant Telegram channel, discloses a call for violence against government officials and law enforcement officers and expresses his opinion about inciting hatred and discord in society regarding public participation.
Tikhanovsky’s wife Svetlana, who nominated her candidacy in the presidential election against Lukashenka instead of her husband after her arrest and was forced to leave Belarus, proclaimed the Present Time, which she considers the verdict “Lukashenko’s personal revenge.”
Igor Losik is a blogger, author of the telegram channel “Belarus of the Brain”, Radio Liberty consultant on new media. He was detained on June 25, 2020 at his home in Baranovichi (Brest region). He was accused of inciting social hatred “against representatives of authorities and health authorities” committed by a group of persons (part 3 of article 130), and of organizing mass armed forces (part 1 of article 293).
The Investigative Committee of Belarus did not give any signs or representatives who demonstrated the existence of a “group” in which the accused acted, any connections between them, or at least proved that they communicated. For example, it is not told whether Igor Losik talked with Tikhanovsky, Statkevich and other defendants in the case. AT about SK are only identification names of those “close” to Tikhanovsky’s face.
After the verdict was announced, Losika’s wife published a video message to Lukashenka, law enforcers and judges.
