Both the plot and the characters are fictitious. A restless camera work, a partially improvised screenplay and the use of voiceovers in which the characters present their emotional state are intended to increase the impression of reality.

Where is “Berlin – Day & Night” filmed?

The locations of the scripted reality series are also intended to achieve the “middle of life” effect. Instead of a set in the production studio, the filming locations are real locations, most of which are in the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district of Berlin. There are real addresses in Berlin for numerous locations, such as the flat-sharing communities, clubs or the hairdressing salon Schnitte. In addition, locations such as the Mercedes-Benz Arena Berlin or the S-Bahn and U-Bahn station Warschauer Straße serve as regular filming locations for cutscenes.

Which actors play in “Berlin – Day & Night”?

In the course of the ten-year existence of “Berlin – Tag & Nacht” more than 70 actors have embodied the main characters in the daily soap. In addition, there are well over 200 supporting actors, some of whom can only be seen in a few episodes, but sometimes return in later episodes.
