Florent Ghisolfi (RCL) : “Les trois relégués cette saison ont été Bordeaux, Metz et Saint-Etienne. On n’est pas encore un club assuré de rester en Ligue 1”
Florent Ghisolfi, the Sports Coordinator of RC Lens, was invited to discuss the goals of the Sang et Or club for next season. If good things have been seen, he recalls that no rule ensures that his club will remain – giving the example of the Girondins de Bordeaux or Saint-Etienne – and that maintenance will therefore be the priority objective.
“The priority of priorities, this is not a facade speech, is to maintain, to stabilize the club in Ligue 1. The three relegated this season were Bordeaux, Metz and Saint-Etienne. We are not yet a club guaranteed to stay in Ligue 1. We will have to work hard. If we reach the first objective quickly, we can set ourselves the second objective of finishing in the top 10, after two seasons where we finished seventh. The season with four runs can bring a lot of tension and stress to the teams, you will have to be very focused and release a lot of confidence and serenity in everything you can put in place. It’s been two years that we play the maintenance at the start but we have the ambition and the will to play which will be preserved […] If the club has still gained credit? The attractiveness has always been strong among the players, it’s more the entourage that could slow down when you were promoted. We are also attractive because we have made our priorities come and we are satisfied with what we have done so far”.
