Alcanto Minerals Ltd registers up to 12.7% zinc in Sala in Sweden, the estimate of future virgin resources strengthened
Alicanto Minerals Ltd (ASX: AQI) welcomes further strong high quality analyzes as they collect final data for their upcoming JORC Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) at the Sala Silver-Lead-Zinc (Copper-Gold) Project in Sweden.
The company believes that the results of up to 2.8 meters at 12.7% zinc – the last batch of analyzes to be included in the resource estimate – provide stronger evidence of the project’s high qualities and significant scale.
Alicanto has completed a total of 28 diamond holes for 18,482 meters of drilling to date.
Highlights from final analyzes
Solid sulfide was cut through in this batch, including:
- 2.8 meters at 12.7% zinc and 22 g / h silver;
- 2.5 meters at 1.6% zinc, 173 g / h silver and 2.8% lead; and
- 4.1 meters at 4.5% zinc and 14 g / h silver.
Drilling at the northwestern extension of Sala crossed
- 3.8 meters at 653 g / h silver, 0.3% zinc and 2.6% lead; and
- 1.9 meters at 164 g / h silver, 0.6% zinc and 2.3% lead.
“Huge potential”
“These ratings are exceptional and fully consistent with the ratings that established Sala as a world-class asset in its past life,” said CEO Peter George.
The results also extend the known mineralization during the strike at Prince and establish the presence of high-quality mineralization in the gap between the Sala and Prince plots.
“In addition to helping to further strengthen the upcoming resource, these intersections show the enormous potential for continued growth. We have two rigs that continue to drill as part of that growth strategy.”
The strike spanned large systems
It is important that the results expand the known high-value mineralization in the gap between Sala and Prince lodes, which is now interpreted as a large system. The Prince pilot now extends 750 meters along the strike to a depth of 600 meters.
The resource estimate, calculated by leading independent consultants Cube, is scheduled to be completed next month and will include this final data.
Well funded to continue
Two drilling rigs continue Alicanto’s work at Sala, with the aim of increasing the resource’s footprint.
The company is well-funded to develop these activities with A $ 6.1 million in cash on March 31.
Salas historia
In February 2021, Alicanto secured 100% employment covering the historic Sala and Bronas silver mine in Bergslagen, Sweden.
Production in the region most recently took place in the Bronäs mine, 400 meters from Sala, in 1962, when over 200 million ounces of silver had been produced in grades up to 7,000 g / h and 35,000 tonnes of lead.
Alcanto is carrying out the first systematic diamond drilling in the property since the mine was closed.
