Toulouse. The new Toulouse-Francazal airport celebrates its 10th anniversary –
In April 2011, the first companies set up on the site of the former Toulouse-Francazal military airport, closed since September 1, 2009, after hosting the first base of the French Air Force in 1934. .
Today, ten years later, the site has successfully converted and reinvented itself to become a reference platform in preparing for the future of aviation and the mobility of tomorrow.
After €17 million in investments, Toulouse-Francazal airport, managed by SETFA, the Toulouse-Francazal Airport operating company, and EDEIS, a leader in engineering and infrastructure management, now has a about thirty companies specializing in aeronautics and new forms of mobility.
Over an area of 170 hectares, no less than 1,500 m2 of new buildings have been built, 1,800 m of track and 190,000 m2 of parking areas have been renovated and 60,000 m2 created while 35,000 m2 of premises and hangars have been rehabilitated.
Today more than 400 people are employed at Toulouse-Francazal airport, with the vocation of mobility, whether air or land:
– Business aviation: the airport welcomes nearly 200 business flights each year and
is home to corporate aviation airline JetCorp;
– Aero-industry: with ATR, Tarmac Aerosave, Aura Aero, Airplane Delivery, Airplane
Painter;
– Activity related to aeronautics: with Acia Aero Technics, Acia Aero Parts,
Aero Engineering Services, Vartan Aviation Group, Scope Training, Sud Aero Formation,
Flight simulation, Harmony Aerospace, SAFIRE (environmental research aircraft),
Scalian, ID Drones and KN Technologies;
– New forms of mobility: with Easymile and Hyperloop
