Escaping, like “getting away”. This is precisely what the Domaine de La Terrasse offers, located on the base of a superb medieval castle in Carbonne (Haute-Garonne), south of Toulouse. In 2020, he opened an “escape game”, this modern treasure hunt which consists of solving puzzles and thwarting traps to escape from a mysterious, even worrying place…
Two new rooms
The success of this “Zone Natura 2000” is such that the Estate has just opened, on Friday May 20, 2022, two new rooms: one on the theme of the hotel, the other on that… of horror!
“The idea is to have fun with family, friends and colleagues,” explains Théo Van Schendel, creator of tourist activities and communications manager. Escape games are escape games in life-size movie sets. People deliver the price but are clearly very satisfied because we are highly rated everywhere. We welcome visitors from 10 to… well, there is no limit! Not long ago, we received a 75-year-old lady! “.
“70% of visitors have never done an escape game”
Here is how the sessions take place in this very special place.
“We do a ‘briefing’ at the start of each escape game, because the safety of our customers is the number one priority and around 70% of our visitors have never done an escape game. Then for an hour, the players must play together to get out of the room – moreover, many companies call on us to develop their spirit of cohesion and group work. With “Room 613”, we are going to have fun scaring each other: shivers guaranteed!
“Escape bags” to discover the history of the Château
A novelty accompanies these two new rooms: escape bags for children aged 10 to 16who are given a map of the place and who must then discover its rich history and heritage in a playful way – a new concept in France but already developed in Canada. The pockets of the backpacks carried by the explorers are padlocked and, in order to be able to read the messages and riddles, you will have to be extra savvy, mischievous, curious and ingenious!
Total change of scenery
The magnificent setting of the castle is a visit full of promise in itself. It houses a restaurant open seven days a week, lunch and dinner, reception rooms, accommodation (90 beds) and a shop.
A “birthday” formula is offered for those who want to blow out their candles with friends after an escape game game. A total change of scenery 25 km south of Toulouse, how to escape it?
