Van den Bergh beats Van Duijvenbode and ruins Dutch party at Dutch Darts Masters | Sport
Dutch Darts MastersDmitri Van den Bergh has won the Dutch Darts Masters. The 27-year-old Belgian beat Dirk van Duijvenbode in the final of the battle in the Ziggo Dome 8-2.
The 29-year-old darts player from ‘s Gravenzande, who was in a final of a TV tournament for the first time, did not come into play after a great tournament in the final battle on Saturday evening against the unleashed yesterday at Ron Meulenkamp in a blistering Ziggo Dome tied another three Dutchmen to his victory cart (Jermaine Wattimena, Danny Noppert and Van Duijvenbode in the final.)
Van den Bergh was also much too strong for Danny Noppert (7-2) in the semi-final. In the quarter-finals he was little of the Dutchman Jermaine Wattimena (6-1). The 29-year-old Van Duijvenbode settled in an exciting semi-final with the Englishman James Wade (7-6).
Michael van Gerwen, who recently had surgery on a wrist, was already knocked out in the first round† He issue of his compatriot Noppert-4. Van Gerwen won the Premier League two weeks ago. Then he turned to his throwing hand.
