English sexual predator fled to Portugal and was arrested in Figueira da Foz
Alistair Riggott, 53, was looking for minors on social media. He had been hiding in the country since December last year.
A 53-year-old English sexual predator has gone into hiding from British authorities in Portugal. Since December of last year, he has traveled to various locations in the country, he has always slept in hostels, but he was arrested at the fair, in Figueira da Foz, Tuesday, by the Judiciary Police (PJ). He is being held in Coimbra jail pending extradition to England.
Alista Riggott went through social networks with fake profiles looking for children and when he gained their trust, he enticed them. It will ask them to ask for photographs in which they appear naked and then send pictures of themselves to perform sexual acts. At the same time he believed the victims to do the same.
The crimes arrived along the Inglesa last year to be detained by the police. However, he would be released on payment of a bond, and after ten years in court to be tried crimes of child sexual abuse and child pornography fled the country.
The international detention authorities took refuge that the paedo was by the local police. However, Alistair Riggott went into hiding in Portugal. First in the Algarve and later in different regions to avoid being located.
According to the JN, the Englishman stayed for a short time in the same location and always spent the night in low-cost hostels. Even so, he spent around 300 euros a month on accommodation, which leads the authorities to think that the fugitive was being helped by friends or friends.
Detained at the hostel
Even on the run, the sexual predator continued to access the internet, which the British found him in Portugal and asked the PJ for help. In less than one, inspectors from the Criminal Information Unit, responsible for carrying out International Detention, flagged Alistair Riggott and, this Tuesday, had him at the last hostel he had leased, in Figueira da Foz.
The judge did not think of resistance, he was taken to the Court of Appeal in Coimbra and sent by the court to jail in that city. It is in this prison that he awaits the conclusion of the child extradition process in England, where he will be tried for the ten crimes of sexual abuse of children and pornography of which he is accused.
