40,000 Danes have signed a voter training that they want Inger Støjberg’s new party to be able to stand for election in less than a day.
New parties in Denmark must collect 20,182 signatures before they get the right to stand for election to the Folketing – just as many votes as were needed to get a mandate in the previous election.
The new party was registered on Thursday afternoon, writes NTB.

The signatures must be approved. This only happens in seven days. But all indications are that the Danish Democrats will be allowed to stand for election.
The former Liberal politician was thrown out of the Folketing after being sentenced to prison in a Supreme Court case in December.
Not a protest party
As for the new party, Støjberg himself has said that it should not be a protest party. His Savior, who is political editor of TV 2, believes that her party can offer headaches for the other bourgeois parties in Denmark, both the old, establish the Left, the Conservatives, and the more populist, new parties; New Civic and Danish People’s Party.
Although the party may steal many voters from the Danish People’s Party, there are many indications that the new party will not follow exactly the same political course, Redder believes.
Støjbergs chooses in several questions and intermediate position between the bourgeois parties, while in other areas, such as retirement, it clearly learns to disagree with the other bourgeois.
Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, who is the leader of the Social Democrats, says that she is waiting to clarify whether she can cooperate with the new party until more of the party’s policies are known.
