DIJON: Bee Festival on Sunday June 26
The Jardin de l’Arquebuse organizes APIdays around pollinating insects.
After the immense success of the Fête de la nature, which took place on Sunday May 22 at the Jardin de l’Arquebuse, the time has come to celebrate pollinating insects with the same fervor.
Indeed, with more than 5,200 visitors welcomed during the festive afternoon dedicated to biodiversity on May 22, the growing number of visitors each year confirms its interest and involvement in making Dijon an undisputed capital of biodiversity by promoting, by all means, a return of nature to the city.
Thus, Sunday June 26, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., in this magnificent green setting, holder of the Ecogarden label, pollinating insects and their essential role in the preservation of biodiversity will be in the spotlight: APIdays®, Fête des bees is an unmissable festive event for everyone.
This event initiated by the UNAF (National Union of French Beekeeping), organized by the Jardin de l’Arquebuse is possible thanks to the investment and the presence of all the local actors acting in favor of biodiversity. More than 25 stands, workshops, events, exhibitions to inform you, while entertaining you, about the fascinating world of pollinators:

A day to love, protect and look at nature differently!
Dijon honey and bees…
Since 2013, the city of Dijon has been involved with the UNAF by signing the “bee, sentinel of the environment” charter. A national awareness and information program to safeguard bees and wild pollinators, which play an essential role in biodiversity.
The city of Dijon, particularly invested in bringing nature back to the city, works every day to ensure that nature regains its rights more than ever.
All these necessary and now rewarded actions are a means of raising public awareness of the essential role of bees and other wild pollinators in helping to preserve biodiversity and nature in the city.
Urban biodiversity conceals an unsuspected fauna and flora. And of course, the strong link of such vitality are pollinating insects, in particular bees, which have more than ever right of citizenship.
That nature in the city flourishes is a will of the city, and it is the daily life of each of us: we can promote life and diversity on our balcony, in our garden, or by our behavior in public parks.
Remember that since 2016, Dijon has been awarded the “city of honey” prize each year for its local honey during the National Biodiversity Conference as well as the APIcité® label “3 bees – exemplary approach” declared by the National Union. of French beekeeping (UNAF) for its approach and its actions in favor of the protection and defense of bees and pollinating insects.
Dijon is creating a buzz… by welcoming more than two million city bees to its parks and gardens. Nearly 80 hives are scattered around the city (11 sites), as well as around twenty in the Cras area. The management of these hives has been assigned to beekeeping associations as well as professional beekeepers.
