Pastorelli: “An attractive program presented at Siena. Michela Rodella will be the head of the youth sector” :: Siena Club Fedelissimi 1970
The last two years have not been easy but the women’s sector wants to restart with renewed ambitions, thanks also to the support that the new Juventus president Emiliano Montanari has shown at San Miniato. This was also confirmed by the director of the neroverde women’s section, Marcello Pastorelli, who in the press conference reiterated San Miniato’s commitment to carrying out this activity: “San Miniato has a long tradition for women’s football, it was perhaps the first to have believed in this business. We are trying to create an appropriate structure for this situation. We actually resumed last year – Pastorelli points out – also tried the previous year but everything was blocked by Covid. Despite this, we managed in a very short time to develop a youth sector with 25-30 girls, starting from scratch and quite late. We intend to increase the youth sector as much as possible, because no society is sustainable if it does not comply with it. Our desire is to create a structure that goes forward over time “.
An aspect on which Siena also seems to want to focus: “Obviously the club believes, because it has extended its commitment with us for five – remarks Pastorelli – it means that the program we presented to him is captivating. We will have an under 15 team, an under 17 team that is fundamental for Siena, as well as a militant first team in Excellence that we are trying to build and grow so that in two years it can reach Serie C. for the most part. on athletes in the area, also taking into account the fact that, for various reasons, the neighboring realities have difficulties. San Miniato therefore stands as a lighthouse in the Sienese and Grosseto areas. I think it is an opportunity not to be missed “.
Pastorelli then concludes by shedding light on some aspects concerning the technical part: “All the teams will be coached by extremely qualified federal technicians. Before revealing their names, we reserve the right to take some more time. On the other hand, I can say that Michela Rodella will be in charge of the entire youth sector, she has given a truly important mark to our company. I believe that our programs – says the director – are feasible and achievable with the help of everyone. Without forgetting the family part behind the youth sector, which is essential for carrying out this type of activity. Also because women’s football brings with it a certain type of legacy that must be demolished. I conclude by thanking all the collaborators who have given me a hand “. (Jacopo Fanetti)
