The Prague Dance Center will present the final performance of the 2021/22 season on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 6 pm in the Hybernia Theater, which is an annual show of the conservatory’s artistic activities. Students from the first to the eighth year will perform here. The young artists will show the dance audience a cross-section of the styles taught, such as ballet, jazz, modern dance, tap, folk dance and acrobatics.

“The final performance of the Prague Dance Center is really the last in this busy season, when students, despite another turbulent covid year, completed a total of 52 performances in eight cities,” says Jan Schneider, director of the Prague Dance Center Conservatory. “So in the evening we will really dance only a fraction of our year-round work. The individual classes, including the lowest grades, and even the Terpsichore preparatory dance department are introduced. A big thank you goes especially to the parents who provide the students with support and support. For everyone, it’s another valuable experience on the boards that signify the world, so I wish the performing students from the bottom of my heart the traditional ‘break the tie’! ”

Prague Dance Center, conservatory and grammar school
The Prague Dance Center, Conservatory and Grammar School is the first educational and artistic institution that has brought modern culture and jazz dance techniques into the Czech culture and consistently combines modern dance with the teaching of classical dance and other areas of contemporary dance theater. The tradition dates back to 1961 – then in the underground and later, under the auspices of Charles University and a number of foreign experts, the center is gradually being established, which now includes an eight-year conservatory and eight-year grammar school combined into one educational concept supplemented by studying dance pedagogy with appropriate approval. Student Art Agency, International Center for Dance Ensembles, brings the artistic ensembles Ballet Prague Junior and Baby Ballet Prague, import and export creators, educators and, organizes festivals and workshops. An important goal of the center is to support the general and professional education of dancers, their confident and quality involvement in interpretive practice and subsequently the ability to manage, produce artistic and social organizations and projects. Several hundred dancers who work in Czech ensembles (Prague Chamber Ballet, National Theater Ballet in Prague, Laterna magika and others), abroad (Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, The Hague, Barcelona, Lisbon, Pécs and others) or graduated universities (Charles University, HAMU and others). “People from the Center” hold important positions in Czech artistic, educational and social organizations.
