PRE has opened the largest charging hub in Prague
The capital city of Prague has a new city charging hub for recharging electric cars. Pražská energetika has put into operation a system of eight public charging stations in the car park near the Prague Congress Center, which will allow up to 16 electric cars to be charged at the same time. It is thus the largest recharging point in the territory of the capital city of Prague.
Owners of electric cars can use recharging one station of the Hypercharger Alpitronic type with an output of 75 kW and 7 other so-called AC stations with an output of 22 kW. This new city charging hub was created thanks to the support of the Ministry of Transport. It was co-financed from the Operational Program Transport – Metropolitan Network II project.
A set of seven AC charging stations with an output of 2 x 22 kW will allow you to charge up to 14 electric cars at once. They are also complemented by one fast DC charging station with an output of 75 kW, which will allow fast charging. With this project, the Prague Congress Center has also expanded its services in the area of emission-free transport. The charging hub is located almost in the very heart of Prague, close to the north-south highway and the Vyšehrad metro station.
“Electromobility, especially in the capital city of Prague and in urban agglomerations in general, a lease for a better environment. Pražská energetika has been investing in the construction of charging infrastructure for 10 years. We are one of the market leaders in this field. We have already put into operation almost 380 charging stations not only in Prague, but we are also building a backbone network throughout the Czech Republic. We will certainly continue to build charging stations in the future, as the importance of electromobility will continue to grow, “ says Pavel Elis, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of PRE.
“KCP has undergone a complete transformation energy system throughout the building, we use smart technologies, we are planning a project to install photovoltaics on the roof, we are organizing sustainable congresses. We are transforming the Green KCP concept into real life, and the new rechargeable hub is further proof. Owners of electric cars can use the time to visit events at KCP and charge their car, or change directly to our subway and continue to the center of Prague quickly, but mainly without emissions, ” adds Lenka Žlebková, General Director of the Prague Congress Center.
“Prague Energy has long been working to make public charging infrastructure available throughout the capital. I am glad that, in cooperation with the Prague Congress Center, we were able to include public recharging for Praguers and visitors to the metropolis in this strategic location. At the same time, I am very pleased that the first test of this PRE city charging hub will be the electric cars used during the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union, ” says Vojtěch Fried from the Department of Electromobility Development in PRE.
In addition, all chargers in the PREpoint network are supplemented with 100% green energy from renewable sources. Payment for recharging the electric car is possible with a chip, or via a QR code and payment gateway. It is also possible to use the chips of contractual roaming partners for recharging.
For mobile users, the Prague charging station service also has a modern PREcharge application, which is a great advantage for searching for PREpoint charging stations on an updated map with detailed information about each station, including its performance and current availability.
PRE launched the first public charging station in 2011
PRE is one of the pioneers in the construction of charging stations in the Czech Republic. It put its first public charging station into operation at the beginning of 2011 in Prague’s Chodov. At the moment, Pražská energetika already has more than 380 public charging stations in operation in its PREpoint network, at which over 750 electric cars can be charged at one time.
